Review : ANIMOTO
I love video editing!
I love creating videos to surprise friends and family. You know... that short video clip showing a collection of pictures and/or videos backed up with a cool soundtrack. You know... that one video clip which makes the viewers either go "aaaww" or "grrrr" depending on whatever images were shown. *lol
I use the default windows Moviemaker for my video editing. Unfortunately, the software slowness (hourglass, hourglass, hourglass) can't keep up with my patience. Haha. Good thing I came across a video editing tool which is available online and it's... {wait for it}.. FREE..!
It's called Animoto and could be accessed through their website : http://www.animoto.com
I love Animoto because :
* of its very user-friendly interface
* it can be shared easily across social networking sites (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc)
* it is FREE for a 30sec video
* you may upgrade anytime for a minimal fee
* there are hundreds of video templates to choose from (which makes you look like a pro!) *lol
Here's a sample of a video I edited using Animoto. Try it too! Enjoy! :)

Review movie : Don Jon
Joseph Gordon Levitt, I love you, you know that. Even my husband knows about it too. *lol
When hubby told me that he's working overtime tonight, I thought I could grab that opportunity to have some "me time". Checked on what movies were showing and found Don Jon on the list. Honestly, I have no idea what the movie is all about (am I too busy at work that I'm not that updated about what's going on in the world anymore?!) but hey, it has Joseph Gordon-Levitt in it, so what the heck... if he's in it, i'm definitely watching it!
The movie revolves around an over-zealous, religious, obsessive-compulsive, commitment-allergic, gym buff slash porn addict. Way to describe the main character, right?!
It's a story of Jon Mortello (Gordon-Levitt) who strictly follows a routine : 1. attend sunday mass with his family, 2. hit the gym, 3. go to the bar for hook-ups only with girls he rates with an 8-10 and 4. then lots (and lots!) of porn in between. Routine shattered when he meets Barbara Sugarman (Scarlett Johansson), a woman, who for him is worth more than a dime. He tries to woo her, date her, torture himself watching sappy chick flicks with her. His patience pays off, he gets her.. finally. Conflict happens when they become a couple and she tries changing him into someone he's not. Talk about controlling someone who also happens to be a control freak. He then meets an older woman, Esther (Julianne Moore) and in an unlikely turn of events, they found instant connection in each other.
Some scenes may be corny at times but for some reason, it still gets you hooked. Screenplay is cleverly written, humor is almost always found in the family's dinner scenes. Tony Danza's dad role fits him to a T. Hehe.
There could be lots of sex, porn and cussing in the film but still, it followed the formula found in a number of romantic comedies. Cool guy who's not a fan of commitments; guy meets girl, girl rocks his world, conflicts arise, and realization in the end.
So what did I realize as the film credits were rolling? That love can be found in unexpected places. It will caught you off-guard. You may have your own standards of a dream guy/girl but hmmm... almost always, you find yourself falling to that one person you consider as "exception to the rule".
Ah.... love.
For his actor-slash-writer-slash-director tasks, Joseph Gordon-Levitt did a great job! Looking forward to his next projects. I'm loving him more. Hehe.

Review Movie : Gravity
This is one cool movie led by George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. Well, come to think of it, they ARE the ONLY stars of the movie and boy did they do one hell of a job. Perfect casting.
Kudos to the director. Loved how the movie kept me at the edge of my seat, waiting... holding my breath as Sandra floats and wanders through outer space. My only regret is that I watched it on 2D. Boohoo..! The experience might have been much better on 3D.
Anyway, 2D, 3D.. it doesn't matter. Do watch it! Highly recommended.
